잘 잊을 줄 아는 것이 중요하다

우리는 경험 속에서 오직 지혜만을 얻고 거기서 멈춰야 한다.

그렇지 않으면 뜨거운 난로 뚜껑 위에 앉은 고양이처럼 될 것이다.

고양이는 뜨거운 난로 뚜껑 위에 두 번 다시 앉지 않겠지만,

차가운 뚜껑에도 마찬가지이다.

늘 그리고 모든 것에서 배우는 자가 세상을 지배합니다.

그러나 경험에서 얻은 지식은 고정관념을 낳게 되고

고정관념은 대부분 부정적 산출물을 낳습니다.

새로운 것을 습득하는 것과 마찬가지로,

기존의 낡은 지식을 버릴 줄 아는 언러닝(unlearning)이 필요합니다.

경험에서 배우되 경험에 매몰되지 않아야 합니다.

In every aspect of life, the most learned individual will always rule the world.

However, knowledge that is

attained through experience gives rise to stereotypes,

and these in turn lead to backwards thinking.

Like learning something new, we need to learn how to filter

and “unlearn” obsolete practices.

Although we must still learn from our experiences,

we must try not to cling onto outdated practices.
